Carl Islam

Carl Islam TEP, is a registered public access Barrister who can be instructed directly by a member of the public without the involvement of a solicitor. Carl specialises in Inheritance Tax planning and related will, trust, and professional negligence disputes (including mediation advocacy). He is licensed to exercise rights of audience in all Courts and proceedings in England and Wales, is a member of the South Eastern Circuit, the Chancery Bar Association, the Revenue Bar Association, the Professional Negligence Bar Association, and a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, belonging to the STEP Contentious Trusts and Estates Special Interest Group. Trust structures he has innovated (discussed in this book) include the international ‘First Start Trust’ for UK resident non-doms who are deemed domiciled for IHT. Carl is also a contributor to Taxation Magazine (Lexis Nexis), the presenter for Wealth Planning TV (www.wealthplanning.tv), and the writer and presenter of the professional training course ‘Planning Tax-Efficient Wills'.
